Back in 2012, the seventh issue of Taking the Lane zine was called BikeSexuality. It sold out quickly, and has been out of print for years. Due to its popularity, we’ve decided to create a book along the same theme, currently scheduled to come out at the end of 2020.
Here are the details:
Call for Submissions: Bikesexuality
What: Nonfiction writing between 500 and 5,000 words on themes of bicycling, sex, and sexuality, from a feminist perspective. Sexual encounters, awakenings, politics, preferences, and orientations are all fair game for this book! Black and white illustrations and comics are also sought. Content that reflects queer experiences (including asexuality) is particularly encouraged, and creators who don’t often see their perspectives reflected in print are especially welcome to submit.
Format: Word, rtf, txt, or pdf files (inquire about format for art submissions).
Deadline: June 1, 2019
Payment: Funds raised by Kickstarter, after book expenses, will be split between contributors, with a $30 minimum per published piece.
