About

Elly Blue Publishing is an imprint of Microcosm Publishing that is fully managed by Elly Blue, still with a focus on feminist nonfiction about bicycling. We publish the quarterly zine Taking the Lane, the annual Bikes in Space anthology, and a growing number of traditional-format books. The full selection can be found in our store.

Elly Blue lives in Portland, Oregon and has been writing about bicycle transportation since 2006 (here’s a fairly comprehensive list). Her work has appeared in the Guardian, Bicycling, Grist, Bitch, BikePortland, Momentum, and elsewhere. Her first book, Everyday Bicycling, came out in December, 2012. Her book, Bikenomics: How Bicycling Can Save the Economy, came out in December, 2013. Both books are published by Portland-based Microcosm.

Everything we make and sell is made in the U.S.A.
